Update 5/2024Adding a photo of the lettuce from a few months ago. It got quite unruly (because we didn’t keep up with the growth). I ended up cutting them all down to stumps and trimming the roots. The lettuce was amazing though on some burgers and sandwiches at work. The best part is it has mostly grown back and we’ve started harvesting leaves off the lettuce. I’ve added food a few times here and there. We’ve also go 3 Tiny Tim tomato plants in there now that seem to be doing well. I’m very satisfied with this.Original 1/2024Wanted one of these for a long while now, since a friend got several different units similar. Just didn’t have space at home. I finally made some space at work to set one up and bought this one. It comes with pretty much everything you need, including some lettuce seeds. I’ve got some baby tomato seeds on order, but they’ve still not come in, looking forward to growing those. Everything went together fairly easily, instructions were clear enough to follow in my opinion. I didn’t use the spot designed to add water, just pulled a seed pod out and poured in there, much easier with a bigger hole. I do wish it came with more blank covers so it was easier to space out, I just used some of the stickers over blank pods and that worked well enough. Light is very bright, luckily we stuck it in a closet area and turned it on for the beginning of the cycle right near the end of the work day, so it’s not disruptive, we’re gone most of the time the light is on. Comes with the food you need and the little “dirt” pods for the sides to sit in, easy to add and do as needed with that. Seeds it came with seem to have germinated well, just waiting on the plants to grow up now.
