Officemate Verticalmate Cubicle Shelf, Slate Gray (29232)

The shelf itself is pretty good – I picked it up because I needed something other than a line of push-pins to keep a small whiteboard in place outside of my cube. The material is sturdy and I’m not worried about it falling or any of the pieces falling out.That said, installing the darn thing was frustrating. The fabric of the cube wall I was trying to install it on moves a little, so I figured “Okay, I’ll place the pins first, and then clip the shelf on. Piece of cake.” OH NO, MY FRIENDS. I had to fight with the plastic bit that connects the pins to the shelf to pop them into place so much that all the pins I’d already placed fell out of the wall.I swapped strategies and popped all the hanging pieces into place then tried to attach it to the wall. The metal pins WOULD NOT go in at the right angle, and the shelf was so long that if the end pins were in correctly, the middle of the cube wall was pushed back and the center pins wouldn’t go in. It took a solid ten minutes of swearing and dropping the shelf multiple times for me to figure out how to adequately place this thing. (That said, you’d never know how many times the shelf hit the floor in this endeavor, because it truly is a solid piece).I didn’t find it easy to install, but I’d still give this four stars. With a different board/cube wall set up, I’m SURE it’s easier to install elsewhere.
