I bought this to cut up styrofoam from furniture, electronic and auto related purchases that are to big and a pain to get in the garbage can. I had two pieces from a new television that were about 8 ft long and almost a foot wide and deep. This worked nicely. (Careful not to breath the fumes!) I diced them up easily to fit in the trash. The cord’s a little short and if it can be done safely should be a lot longer. The wand itself is flimsy, but works really well when fully heated. You just have to take your time with dense packing foam where as hobby foam would be and easier cut/slice/carve. Breaking the stuff up makes a mess this makes disposal cleaner so you don’t have little foam pieces all over everywhere and everything. It is made in China, but what isn’t these days. Until we have people in government who care about our country over filling their own pockets by selling it out we will continue to be forced to buy goods from lands other than our own.
